Electronic Gate

The MiTAC e-Gate Automatic Immigration Clearance solution is an automated security inspection solution designed for border control applications. It is used at airports in Taiwan、Philippine and was recognized with the national “System Integration Award” in 2016 & 2019.

E-Gate can compare individual passport details and biometric features in real-time to speed up immigration clearance. It can also detect people trying to follow others through the gate for enhanced security. If luggage is left behind, an alarm can be triggered to prevent accidents. The entire clearance process is recorded on video. Travelers under travel restrictions can be immediately held until authorized personnel arrive. Ordinary travelers can enjoy fast, convenient and hassle-free clearance services as well.

The e-Gate system can be linked to APIS for the international exchange of flight and traveler details. Passenger information can be transmitted to operations management before departure to check that all passengers are allowed to board. This improves border and aviation security while also helping to combat international terrorism.

System Components

  • AI Tailgating Detection:Laser cameras are used for pedestrian detection while AI detail analysis prevents tailgating.
  • Video Camera:High-resolution 4K camera extracts information from arriving/departing travelers before biometric (facial) recognition technology is used to verify their identity.
  • Gate:Gate hardware is fabricated by MiTAC and customized design is available.
  • Clearance Logic Software:IR sensors detect travelers movements including tailgating, height difference, and personal luggage movement so that the clearance logic software can control the opening and closing of the barriers. Anti-crush is also enabled to prevent injury to travelers.
  • Biometric Recognition Technology:Biometric recognition technology is used to check the biometric features of each traveler including their facial features and fingerprints, improving the level of security for Immigration controls.
  • Passport Scanner:The machine can automatically detect and scan passenger passports (RFID) and display the details on the screen.
  • Fingerprint Scanner:The FBI-certified scanner can use the biometric recognition of fingerprints to identify a traveler and connect to the back-end white/black-lists for in-depth comparison.
