ATP Automatic Train Protection System
Ensure train safety by continuously monitoring train speeds to prevent the driver from speeding or running warning signs. Certified to the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) standard.
System Architecture
- Central Signal Monitoring System:This MiTAC-developed system is mainly used for power supply detection. These include low-voltage detection, relay room outage detection, grid outage detection, generator status detection, track circuit, relay box door, and railway crossing power supply.
- Driver Console (MMI):Driver console is integrated with the train arrival PA system. Train information can be displayed on the console for the operator’s convenience.
- Recording Unit (RU):ATP logs are stored in the recording unit to ensure a full record of all activities aboard the train. RU can also be integrated with the door control switch and the station dispatch radio system.
- Digital Speed Indicator:Digital indicator shows the driver the current train speed and can be linked to the RU to keep a speed log.
- Balise:Two transponders placed on the ground are used to provide the train with signal and speed limit information. Fixed transponders also provide current/projected coordinates. It provides information on train operations and sends updates to the ATP system.
