MiTAC’s MiAION fulfills edge computing market needs
Mitac Information Technology Corp. is optimistic about the edge computing of AI-implemented IoT. Recently Mitac has introduced three models of server with built-in system and middleware in the CUMPUTEX 2018, displaying them in the SmarTEX exhibition area.
MiAION combined with MiCloud , the existing public cloud, creates a comprehensive cloud solution and aims to lead customers to cross the threshold of AI and AIoT easily.
MiTAC was an early provider of public cloud service in Taiwan. As increasing devices of city IoT has become more diversified, centered cloud computing is no longer enough for rapid and secured computing of mass data in real-time. MiTac has taken one step ahead to get into the edge-computing market with MiAION, an edge server between the cloud and end devices for data filtering, optimizing and intelligent processing. With the distributed architecture of hybrid cloud made up of MiCloud and MiAION, MiTAC has improved overall process efficiency and fulfill the low-latency need.
MiAION is an integrated server with built-in applications, and the exhibited package solutions in Computex 2018 included 3 dedicated servers for Machine Learning, Smart City IoT and Industry 4.0.
The machine learning server utilizes built-in facial recognition software and NVIDIA Tesla V100 32GB GPU to generate an AI database of categorical machine-learning models for facial-recognition use cases. The Smart City IoT server built with MiOGC, an OGC-compliant IoT data exchange platform, connected to open data, helps enterprises to upgrade their IT systems into IoT systems and substantially lower the costs of integration. The industry 4.0 server with AI platform can be combined with NVIDIA Tesla GPU and cloud storage software to be applied in factory security and environment data storing. MiTAC also offers advanced version of the above server models. With VMware Cloud Provider Program, various applications can work seamlessly on the virtual platforms to provide more stable, efficient and economical services.
