MiTAC’s MiCloud 2.0 Platform powered by VMware NSX
MiTAC Informaiton Technology Corp. has launched MiCloud 2.0 Platform in July, 2017 and become few of the ICT service companies implanting VMware NSX. The MiCloud was rebuilt with VMware vCloud Suite as its basic cloud computing infrastructure, simplifying the management of internet devices, delivering Iaas services as public cloud and providing internal employee with private cloud.
MiTAC launched its first version of MiCloud Portal in 2011. For the rapidly changing business environment, MiTAC’s original 7 business units were merged into 4 business units in the space of smart terminal, IoT, and Cloud Platform, and the stability, flexibility, and scalability of original MiCloud was not enough to meet the needs of MiTAC’s future development. Also, some of the projects were postponed due to the deficiency of devices. To this point, MiTAC built a special technical project team to develop MiCloud 2.0.
“Our top managers also put much hope and demand on MiCloud 2.0.” The Director of MITAC Information Technology Corp Mr. Kuo said.”MiCloud2.0 must have enough stability to generate efficiency, and be able to support all software RD teams under all business units with costumed environment of developing and integrated testing. Besides, environment of testing for each project must be rapidly and automatically built and deployed. Finally, data must keep its security and confidentiality when using internal or external connection. Director Kuo hope to achieve three goals: resources concentration, resources sharing and cost efficiency.
