Taiwan Coastal Guard held drill on rotor-type UAV
Taiwan’s Coast Guard Administration has held its drill on rotor-type UAV for aerial photography, detection and rescuing missions.
To prevent the African Swine fever from spreading to Taiwan, the UAV squad has been trained for the inspection of the coastal areas around Yunlin and Chiayi county. Once the UAV squad founds pig carcasses in the coastal areas, it will immediately tracking and report the information. Director of the Fifth Patrol Command Headquarters, Mr. Hu says.
Taiwan’s Coast Guard Administration announced the purchase plan of 20 rotor-type UAVs last year. Each UAV has at least 30km linkage distance, 50mins endurance, 3000m flight altitude, 85km/hr cruise speed, and wind resistance for Beaufort above level 6 winds. More than that, it can carried equipment with a maximum payload of 7.5 kilograms.
