2020 Yangminshan Festival – Cross-domain Technology Integrates Arts & Culture
2020 marked the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Yangmingshan National Park, which saw the Park Administration Division team up with the Chinese Culture University to organize the opening ceremony of the “2020 Dancing in Yangming – Yanmingshan International Cultural and Creative Market” on the morning of September 27.
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built by MiTAC designed to assist marine patrols in national defense security and marine ecology were highly recognized and appreciated by all sectors. Chin-Sheng Chiu, vice president of MiTAC’s Innovation Technology Business Group, stated: “with the development of technology, many industries have been inspired to develop new ideas that certainly include arts & culture and UAVs have become one of the mediums of this culture and creativity. Not only will we continue to research and develop innovative new technologies, we will also focus more on humanities, environmental conservation and sustainable development. We hope, by taking part in this event, we will open up a dialogue between technology and humanity.”
During the 4-day event, “2020 Dancing in Yangming,” 35 scholars and 12 local dignitaries were also invited to participate in a series of seminars at the Chi Ren Yong Venue at Yangming Shuwu. Vice President Chiu attended the International Cultural and Creative Industry Value Chain and Social Innovation seminar on October 3. He was the only invited representative from the technology industry. He pointed out that the development of a smart city has brought people’s lives and technology ever closer. Nowadays, “technology” is no longer “some technology” or “some product,” but the integration of various “cross-domains.” MiTAC has been engaged in system integration for over 40 years and has accumulated extensive experience and achievements in the integration of technology into daily life. In the future, the Company will explore further possibilities in combining technology, the arts, and culture with an open mind. By taking this approach, we hope to inspire more talented artists to devote themselves to smart technologies.
Through the recommendation of the Chinese Culture University, MiTAC will join the China-Europe Global Research & Industry Alliance (GLORIA) to provide assistance in industrial development and regional revitalization. It is believed that through the joint effort of GLORIA, Taiwan’s technological innovation will improve while at the same time responding to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in building a livable and sustainable smart city.
